Objectives of Completing Seabourn Academy

Length of Time to Complete

As the training progam is self-administered, the length of time to complete Seabourn Academy training varies. We recommend you allocate a minimum of 4-1/2 hours to complete all the courses (101 through 106). When you have completed a course and taken the exam, you may continue on to the next course or come back any time to complete the next course.

Seabourn Academy Graduate Benefits

  • Certificate: A downloadable certificate with your name and date of graduation
  • Bonus Commission: US$100.00 bonus commission on your first booking after graduating. The booking must be made within 60 days of graduating. To apply for the bonus commission please email seabournacademy@seabourn.com with the booking details and your full name, agency name and agency address.
  • CLIA Credits: Up to 15 CLIA credits toward ACC or MCC. CLIA offers a maximum of 15 credits so if you have credits from other training programs you can only apply the number of credits needed to total 15. If you do not have CLIA credits you may apply all 15 credits. For CLIA ACC/MCC credits, an original Seabourn Academy graduate certificate must be submitted with your Captain's Log Book for grading. Copies, faxes or PDFs will not be accepted. To learn more about CLIA Certification, please go to www.cruising.org. The Seabourn Academy graduate certificate has no cash value. CLIA Certification credit awarded to CLIA member agents only. CLIA and Seabourn are not responsible for lost, misplaced or undelivered mail. 
  • U.S. Travel Professionals Credits: U.S. graduates are eligible for 8 credits from The Travel Institute. We suggest you supply a print out of the email advising that you are a Seabourn Academy graduate and/or a photo copy of your certificate to The Travel Institute. You must be a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC).
  • Canadian Travel Professionals Credits: Canadian graduates are eligible for 12 credits from the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC). Your approval number will appear in the graduate information link, which appears next to your certificate when you become a graduate. If you are registered in the Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) program, you can validate your credits by forwarding this message to certification@citc.ca. If you are not registered in the CTC program and would like to obtain more information, please visit www.citc.ca

How to Become a Seabourn Academy Graduate

  • Click on the "Create An Account" link and complete the form 
  • Login using your email address and password
  • To study, click on the courses tab, then on the course title
  • When you have completed all lessons within each course, take the exam
    • To pass the course exams, you must have 75% correct answers. All exams consist of true/false and multiple-choice questions relating to the course content. You will receive your score immediately.
    • If you do not receive a score of 75% or better, go back and review the course. Then, retake the exam.
  • When you have passed the exam, move on to the next course or come back another time to continue the training
  • You must pass all exams to become a Seabourn Academy Graduate
  • To check which exams you have passed, click on the "History & Certificates" tab.
